COMRESLAB has successfully organized the 4th National Conference on Applications of Composites in IRAN Industry in Faculty of New Science & Technologies on the 19th and 20th of Feb. 2025. Attracted different participants from research centers and industrial companies, this event was as an extension of the previous international conference of Composite pipes and tanks, in 2015, the 1st round of the same conference in 2017,  2nd round in 2020 and and its 3rd round in 2022 which was all organized by COMRESLAB .

In the opening ceremony of conference, below speakers talked:

• Prof. Rafiee, chairman of the conference and director of COMRESLAB
•  Resitan Co. (Producer of polymeric resins)
•  Sayna Co. (Producer of glass mats and fabrics)
• Belfa Co., (Manufacturer of FRP pipes)

After the opening ceremony, the remaining of the first day was devoted to the first part of the parallel sessions for oral presentations. The second day started by the second part of the parallel sessions for oral presentations. Then, two scientific keynote speeches were presented as below:

• Dr. Haghighi, University of Tehran
• Dr. Farrokhabadi, Tarbiat Modarres University

The rest of the day were devoted to the third and last part of the oral presentations.

At the end of the conference and in closing ceremony, Prof. Rafiee appreciated the executive team of the conference and their invaluable efforts in running everything smoothly.

Prof. Rafiee also expressed his sincere gratitude to the companies that supported the conference an announced that, as a bi-annual event, the 5th round of the conference is planned to be held in 2027.

The activities and also achievements of COMRESLAB during the past 10 years were presented in an on-campus exhibition on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of its establishment. The exhibition were held in June 2021 and different participants from industrial centers and also from academic space paid a visit to the stand of COMRESLAB in the expo. The visitors got familiar not only with the ongoing applied research activities and industrial collaboration of the COMRESLAB on the both national and international levels; but also with the future plans of COMRESLAB .

Prof. Nili,  the chancellor of University of Tehran, was comprehensively briefed about the activities of COMRESLAB during his extensive visit of COMRESLAB booth.

Prof. Beheshti, the head of the Center for National Macro Technology Projects (Vice-Presidency for Science & Technology) also visited COMRESLAB booth. He congratulated Dr. Rafiee and his capable team for conducting such projects.

Due to the CoViD-19 pandemic and related special restrictions imposed on social activities, it was not possible to hold the annual reunion of COMRESLAB members according to the usual tradition.  Thus, COMRESLAB members came together virtually and alternatively met each other through video conference on 25th of May 2020.

Dr. Rafiee said: “It is truly pity that we couldn’t organize our annual reunion in 2019 just because of my very busy schedule, engagements and abroad trips in the last days of our Persian year. Unfortunately, we were forced to cancel this ceremony in 2020 as a requirement of social distancing to restrain CoViD-19. Thus, we did it virtually as an exception to renew our ties. For sure, we will all get together to maintain our annual tradition, as soon as the restrictions are lifted and situations are not risky anymore.

Attracted different participants from research centers and industrial companies, this event was as an extension of the previous international conference on Composite Pipes, Vessels and Tanks which was organized by COMRESLAB two years ago.

b. Prof. Beheshti, Iran Polymer and Petrochemical Institute and Chairman of the board of Iran Composites Scientific Association

The rest of the first day and the whole second day were devoted to the scientific sessions wherein 41 oral papers and 30 poster papers have been presented.

COMRESLAB members gathered in a dinner ceremony on the occasion of Dr. Rafieeَ’s promotion to the level of associate professor and also his selection as the young distinguished researcher at university of Tehran. Hosted by Dr. Rafiee on the 21st of January 2016, almost all new and graduated students have attended the friendly ceremony.

 COMRESLAB has successfully organized the 1st International Conference on Composite Pipes, Vessels and Tanks in University of Tehran on the 28th and 29th of January 2015  and attracted different participants from research centers and industrial companies.

The rest of the first day and the whole second day were devoted to the scientific sessions where 46 oral papers  and 35 poster papers were presented.

During the conference, an exhibition was organized and various companies presented their products over there. In that exhibition, COMRESLAB had also a stand presenting its activities.
